'don't chase the rabbit'

           picture a rainy day, heavy rain pouring down on the streets of san fran. a distraught man brushes past the people in the crowd: unknowns too busy on their phones to notice that he pushed past them. he was just as unknown to them as they were to him. he’s distraught that the council of admirals had come to this decision of his punishment. to serve as a researcher on the near vulcan planet, delta vega. once he arrived at the base, with the shuttle, they made him sign in - sign a paper saying they were not liable for any injuries or possible death.

how ironic. the organization that wanted to explore, who always had a reason and always apologized for their mistakes, were the ones who were the most unapologetic and unforgiving if you made a miscalculation.

it took little under three days to get there - he offered to help fix the engines because of how slow they were; but was told to shut up and leave it to the professionals.

this is what started his distrust in the organization. this is what first led him to believe that maybe they weren’t explorers, that maybe deep down inside they were a military.
