Did any books surprise you with how good they were?

This one was less surprising, but I finally read Locked Tomb this year and I liked it even more than I was expecting. I'd heard high praise and it sounded like it was something I'd enjoy, so I'd picked up the first book a while back, but hadn't gotten around to it.

But then I started reading it and was like ohhh FUCK, there's a reason people have been so insistent. How did I let this sit for so long?

Shout out to my project in fandom class that pushed me to read it so my friends and I could write a paper studying the tumblr fandom :)

What reading goals do you have for next year?

This is a rather vague goal, but I'd really like to read more consistently this year. I'm not very good at balancing work/hobbies; it's usually one or the other, and I prioritize my classwork.

I'd love to learn how to fit reading alongside that, since I have so many things I want to read, but I never feel like I have the time.

The thing is this may not be something I can fix by changing my habits, it might be an attention problem for a psychologist (based on things beyond what I've covered), so I guess we'll see what happens
