“Tell me what happened.”
Comfort Starters
Bo's eyes stared into the fire as Rick asked his question. It was dark, they were on the road on a week long run. Two weeks ago though, Negan and his men cornered Bo on a run of her own. They didn't physically hurt her but, she would've preferred that over the mind games and cruel teasing they did to her. Playing cat and mouse in the woods. They scared the shit out of her.
Bo had almost forgotten what fear was. Even when she was on her own a few years ago before she joined Rick's group at the prison. She wasn't scared of walkers, they were easy to handle. Anyone who threatened her alone had a hard time. But when a very large group has everyone you know and come to care about in a circle, threatening to bash your skull in and then proceeds to do that to two of your friends...you start to remember.
"Nothing happened. Nothing they didn't do already anyway." She whispered, her eyes never leaving the dancing embers of the small fire. "I'll live. I have this long right?" Her shoulders shrugged as a bitter smile spread across her face.
the way of the word made for a lot of unexpected things, and while he knew that rick and that crew were still out there doing their thing he never could have predicted this. he supposed he never expected rick to he be here in any fashion because he didn’t think this way. he didn’t understand the way of the world that’s exactly why they’d come into conflict. exactly how shane crossed into negan’s path and ended up as part of this group. but this was the last thing he ever expected honestly. so was it at all surprising that his face was riddled in shock when he came face to face with ..... the man he’d left behind. he glanced at a few of the guys moving past, rick was the guy they found and brought in? of all the people? honestly. rick? what were the chances? more importantly, how was this going to turn out for him? it wasn’t as if he and rick had been in a good place at the end. it was lucky one of them wasn’t dead. he breathed in trying to keep it cool, because hey if the rumors were true about his once best friend then .... then this was a man he’d been trying to awake for so long when they’d been together. the one that needed to do what needed to be done to survive. “ rick... ” he spoke as he moved forwards hand clapping against the other as he fidgeted slightly unable to help himself. what would rick do seeing him now, here? having waded through a select crowd just for him. “ the last guy i expected to see here.... ” he confessed with a light shrug and a sigh none the less. to say he was suddenly anxious wouldn’t be so far off.

@mercyprevaild || loud and deafening silence meme || accepting hospital . my muse is told that yours is in the hospital clinic . Aaron isn’t even sure who it is that tells him, only that one second he’s watering a sad looking tomato plant in the front lawn and the next he’s hurrying toward the clinic without even pausing to drop the watering can.
His internal mantra is Rick Rick Rick, concern for the other man an overwhelming feeling pushing him forward.
He clatters up the stairs, pausing only long enough to deposit the watering can on a bench outside, trying not to imagine all the scenarios which could end up with Rick in the clinic. Maybe he should have listened to whoever had come to tell him - but - all he’d heard was Rick was in the clinic and everything else had gone to white noise.
“Rick?” he calls as he enters the clinic, barely pausing to acknowledge whoever is on duty today. “Rick?” he beelines toward where the patients are kept, his heart pounding in his chest.
Rays of light broke across the horizon, painting the sky in warm hues of oranges and pink. Birds chirped obnoxiously loud overhead as if celebrating the pair’s night of survival. Since their adventure into the old mansion she found herself struggling even harder to sleep and the thought of screaming in terror and alerting not only the undead but even other malicious survivors to their location made for many sleepless nights. Rubbing the back of her neck, she groaned, pushing herself off the sleeping bag she’d been resting on.
“Ugh, I hope you’re able to get some damn sleep,” she groaned, turning to look at her companion. It was difficult with just the two of them, especially when it came to taking shifts at night in open areas. Crouching down, Faye began rummaging through her bag, pulling out an old can of peaches and a can of pears. “You feelin’ peachy or would you prefer some pears?” She asked, realizing they were running low on supplies.
