Is it just me who doesn't get why film and TV use such expensive costume pieces for casual clothing? Like I was looking up some of the stuff Eleanor Shellstrop wears because her outfits are pretty chill and more like stuff I'd wear day-to-day, and the sweatshirt from the new episode which appears for exactly 4 seconds in the popcorn shrimp scene costs $195 dollars! As an aspiring costume designer, I'm always just a little bit thrown by how much some of this stuff costs and I don't know if it's just my perception of how much I spend on clothing or whether there's a greater meaning to it? Unless it's some deep-rooted thing I'd love to get to a point where I can design for something as popular as The Good Place and be able to provide a character design that's just as good while still being more affordable for fans to recreate
