i don't know how oc fact exchanges "work," but panoen lavellan doesn't refuse to wear shoes because he's an elf. he refuses to wear shoes because they're so uncomfortable. vivienne and josie HATE IT and absolutely wrestled him into shoes for the winter palace. (he "mysteriously lost them" roughly an hour in.)
You have the concept down pretty well: leave a tidbit about your OCs in somebody’s inbox, they comment on it and tell you a fact about theirs. Everybody gets a turn to share~
Meanwhile here’s Adam inheriting my tendency to almost always be wearing shoes when I’m not loafing around at home, and sometimes even when I am if I have somewhere to go soon. Of course this being a fantasy world and all, he’s usually wearing leather boots. And probably whatever the most casual kind of closed soled footwear in Thedas is. Sometimes e’ll put his boot-clad feet up on the table if he’s sitting at one too, what the hell son
My own Lavellan will wear footwear depending on the environment: more open sandal type shoes in somewhere warm like the desert areas, and full boots in places like the Fallow Mire where there’s all sorts of nasty things to step in. More comfortable places like Skyhold, though, she’s likely to wear those foot-wraps that the Dalish are typically shown with.
[OC fact exchange/general shenanigans because I have way too many terrible things to process]
did halamshiral have a strong influence on kaiden and dorian's relationship? (i hope this is a decent enough question!)
It’s perfect, thank you!
In my canon, Halamshiral happens quite early on in the Inquisition’s days. Maybe two months or so after they arrived at Skyhold? I haven’t hacked out exact dates yet, but it definitely happens before Adamant. Because of that, Kaiden and Dorian are very, very early on in their relationship. But... That night definitely played an influence on Dorian being more comfortable in the relationship. He was definitely wary at that concept before that night, and he almost didn’t go because he didn’t want to cause a scandal, since he was raised in a country where that sort of thing just doesn’t happen. Kaiden eventually convinced him, thankfully, because otherwise it would have taken many more months for them have a completely solid relationship.
Forgive me, I’m still trying to work out all the details for my longfic and what exactly goes down is going to take some extensive planning, so this is in more of a general sense. But between it all, seeing Kaiden manage nobles like a pro, while also fighting every twenty minutes, and then publicly shaming Florianne at the end... It made Dorian realize that he was way more head over heels for Kaiden than he realized. I mean, he really always knew, but he tried to ignore it. He wasn’t sure how to feel about that and definitely didn’t want to try to figure out what it meant. Before that night, any sort of public affection was not something Dorian did. He wasn’t raised that way, he was too nervous about what people would say, and how he might ruin Kaiden’s reputation. That’s why Dorian offering to dance came at such a surprise to Kaiden. He’d mentioned it earlier in the nights as wishful thinking. As much as he wanted to dance with Dorian, he for sure didn’t expect it to be an actual thing, he knew how his boyfriend hated being close outside of private.
After, things shifted. Dorian slowly became more open to the idea of public affection. Kaiden felt like Dorian actually wanted this, and he wasn’t ashamed of it or anything. It also made for Dorian thinking he was going to lose Kaiden in the Fade that much more awful, but the two of them needed to get over this bump before anything else.

Panoën Lavellan
Pan was born to a Dalish clan, but strayed a little too far from the hunters as a child and was snatched by slavers. He spent the next two decades as a slave in Tevinter, despite the eventual manifestation of his magic - that made him incaensor, a magical slave, and more valuable than the average slave, regardless of what the law said.
He became Inquisitor after his escape, and he wasn’t pleased at all about it. His magic wasn’t strong, he had no taste for leading, he’d never really been in a fight - there were all sorts of reasons that he shouldn’t have been the one to lead the Inquisition, but he was the Herald, and so he became the Inquisitor.
With time, however, he became a Knight-Enchanter and a political force to be reckoned with. If nothing else, he’d witnessed plenty of political machinations in Tevinter, and he wasn’t above using some of what he’d learned to keep his Inquisition thriving and his enemies in line.
The fact that he liked to keep dragon skulls in his throne room also probably helped to keep the foreign ambassadors from getting too demanding, really.
Pan belongs to @meredith-stannards.

D, O, G, S!
ARE THE BEST! ♥
D - A pairing you wish you liked but just can’t.I don’t dislike it, but I’ve never been able to get into Zevran x Warden. Although I generally like Zev himself, and I hear his romance is beautifully done, his immediate flirting with the Warden was always off-putting to me. I never really felt compelled to work beyond that, especially with Alistair and Leliana as romance options.
O - Choose a song at random. Which ship or character does it remind you of?I’m kind of cheating using the playlist for my bbs, but here we go. Shuffle picked Castle - Halsey! That one was for Melisande Trevelyan, although it kind of works for Lorelei Cousland, too.
G - Have you ever had an OTP? If so, do you remember your first one? Who was in it?Prior to Dragon Age I wasn’t much of a shipper at all. I enjoyed romantic relationships in stories, but I wasn’t super invested to the point of creating fan content for them. But my high school boyfriend and I did Star Wars RPGs together, and our characters were in a relationship, too. I (begrudgingly, painfully, embarrassingly) would have to say that was probably my first “OTP.”
That said, nowadays I use “OTP” kind of loosely–They’re like my preferred, very personal ships, usually with an OC, but I generally like smooshing two (or more) characters together and seeing what kind of chemistry could work there. So Cullen and Melisande are OTP, but I’ll still read the shit out of Cullen x Sebastian, Cullen x Alistair, Cullen x Josie, Cullen x Bethany, etc.
S - Show us an example of your personal headcanon (prompts optional but encouraged)I haven’t really fleshed out all the details of my Orlesian Warden-Commander, Daphne, and Bethany’s relationship, but I fell in love with the idea of a very bitter, unhappy Warden Bethany finding unexpected joy and peace in the Wardens, particularly with her ex-Templar Warden-Commander. I need to devote more time to them.
