1. Do you prefer traditional drawing, or digital?

It honestly depends on what I’m drawing! I use both in creating what I post here; I use traditional to plan my drawings and get a rough sketch going, and digital to further develop and finish the drawing. I usually like traditional more, as I’ve been using it longer and have better control, but digital is nice for coloring and clean linework.

2. How long have you been drawing?

I started taking art seriously in 4th grade, so around age 9. That was when I met my best friend in that grade, who was...quite frankly a prodigy at art, and who introduced me to more (for the time) obscure anime and manga. I remember just being absolutely blown away by what she could create with seemingly no effort at all, and I wanted to be able to do that, too. So from that point on, I started studying and practicing as hard as I could.

6. What’s your least favorite thing to draw?

AAAAA-- feet? Feet. I still can’t get them quite right. I’m trying, but euugh. Also certain angles when it comes to drawing the head, like dead center facing (it looks flat!!!) or tilted upwards from a worm’s eye view (AAAA). Though if you notice, those are the exact angles I’ve been trying to draw more often, recently. You don’t get better if you don’t practice!

25. Do you like to draw in silence, or with music?

I always need something playing in the background. Half of the time it’s music (which is an important influence on my art, very similarly to Araki) and the other half of the time I’ll put on something like reviews for anime or music or CinemaSins or something else in the background so I can listen to it while I’m working. But drawing in complete silence is a good way to stall my creative process.
