Meri pokemon au!!! They’re just a regular human trainer with a very irregular team, having run the gym circuit all the way to the elite four before deciding this wasn’t for them and starting over as a contest trainer. They still enjoy friendly battles and the odd task here and there, but mostly they consider themself retired, with a small home outside of one of the cities and enough land to support their high level teams of battlers. (Takes place in a world where as long as you don’t battle, you can maintain mega-evolution to a number of positive effects- if your pokemon gets in a battle it returns to its normal form at the end of the battle.
