1. What’s their full name? Why was that chosen? Does it mean anything?

Caderyn Thomas Shepard is his full name. It wasn’t picked for the meaning so much as it was for the heritage and the sound of it - Cade’s dad is a bona-fide Welshman and very patriotic - and on a personal note as a creator, it’s one of my favourite names. However, it does actually mean ‘battle-leader’ so it’s not exactly inaccurate either :D

Thomas was chosen as a middle name bc it’s his dad’s name. Family thing. Cade goes on to call one of his sons Thomas too.

Though, Cade hates being called Thomas - people used to do it because he looked so much like his father, and it was easier to say than Caderyn. Some people still try to.

8. Did they have pets as a child? Do they have pets as an adult? Do they like animals?

Oh yeah, a lot! Growing up in Wales, he lived on what was basically a farm, tbh. 3 dogs, 2 horses, a few goats and sheep and chickens. He spent hours working with the horses especially and developed a real affinity for them - to the point where he was competing regularly in shows by the age of 9, but after moving to NY, he had to put a stop to that.

As an adult, Cade doesn’t get to own pets until he retires from active duty which he hates, but he manages to stick it out long enough and winds up with 3 big doggos as a result. Totally worth it.

Cade really likes animals tbh. They’ve always calmed him down, especially as a kid when he was struggling with his ADHD - his dogs would sit with him while he focused on smoothing their fur over and over. Definitely something he grew used to. 

21. Do they have a temper? Are they patient? What are they like when they do lose their temper?

Cade definitely has a temper - he’s been described as volatile by plenty of people. And, yeah, he does have a short fuse. He struggles with empathy, his patience is almost nonexistent, and he really, really finds it difficult to keep his mouth shut when he snaps.

Normally, Cade’s quite loud and boisterous, but he gets quiet when he’s angry. It’s like he’s trying to contain it all and stop it from lashing out, but he inevitably lets slip of a few choice words and then the whole thing comes crashing down. Not a fun person to be around.

There’s not many things that actually make him angry though. There’s things that he gets exasperated at, things that he gets tired of very quickly, but angry? That takes a lot.
