This episode actually wasn't as bad as I thought (shock wise) it was going to be
I knew Tatiana was working with the strigoi and I hope the group figures that out
What was the point of THAT scene last episode if it meant nothing? Why bother even showing it if it has no significance?
Meredith, my Queen speaking the truth to Mason "The way you feel about Rose, that is the way she feels about Dimitri. She can't help that any more than you can."
Everyone knows how Rose and Dimitri feel about each other and I'm living for it. A list shall we: Meredith, Mason, Tatiana, Alberta, Lissa
Dimitri knows Rose would always choose him, they would always choose and protect each other
"Hard to brag to the woman who gave me a black eye." Sorry about that." Dimitri doesn't hold that fight against her one bit, and I love that
Dimitri quoting Rose about having a "staring contest with the air." His smile. 😩😭 Their smiles. The eye contact. The yearning. stares. Staring at each other's lips. Dimitri putting his hand to his lips after holding it over his heart for Rose🥺😊They want to be together so bad; it hurts 😩
I see that as him accepting that he truly loves Rose
"Comrade" and "Roza" in the same conversation 🥺
Also, the way Dimitri spoke about him being the least of concerns with everything else going on, Rose really has changed him
Obviously, Rose is coming back, she's probably going to feel that Lissa is in danger (and some bts photos I've seen)
Now I don't like Mason as much as I thought, he needs to accept the fact that Rose doesn't love him
"This Romitri scene" meaning there is more than one? What the hell is THAT thing? Who's writing a letter? A goodbye letter? Is Rose writing it to Dimitri or vice versa? What's on Dimitri's neck? So many questions. These last 2 episodes are going to completely wreck me. Also heard there is going to be a shocking death too. Preparing for it.
Update: There was only one (but it was quality), I'm guessing it was Andre, It was supposed to be for Lissa, but she ended up going to see her instead, I knew it was a version of an ankle monitor.
I have very much enjoyed this season and I'm going to miss doing these reviews.
First off, this cast is so amazing, the performances were absolutely everything
It was a satisfying conclusion to the season for me
Good thing the only characters I'm seriously attached to are Rose and Dimitri, still love pretty much everyone though
This is the exact reason why Moroi should be trained to use their powers for defense, without the Dhampirs they're all just sitting ducks
Romitri bantering in the secret tunnel scene is pure gold, these two idiots are on a stealth mission to seek out any strigoi and they start yelling five minutes into it was absolutely hilarious, I'll do a separate one just for them bc they have officially ruined my sanity
Jesse and Silver getting that much screentime wasn't necessary, just saying...
There wasn't enough Rose in my opinion
Loved how Janine embraced Rose, and as her child as well, not as a Guardian
Mermia lives! The height difference!
Rose's Father?!? Abe?
At least Lissa had one last moment with Andre before THAT happened, Daniela acted her butt off
The Hathozera hug! Besties!
Tatiana isn't even a Moroi (Never even saw her fangs), should've known better, I knew that she was going to weasel her way onto the throne on way or another
The cliffhangers: Strigoi Andre, Tatiana becoming Queen, Mason, Alberta
On the Deaths (some of them, good riddance): Dane Zeklos, members of the council, Queen Marina
I love that all the ships are completely different
Well, I'll say this episode didn't quite annoy me as much as the last couple of episodes. There are still things that are questionable, but at least some of the way the characters acted made a little more sense to me.
Also, I’m a little confused about the geography here. This show talks about different dominions and Academy’s and so on. But it feels like everything is ten minutes away from each other. I just cannot get a scope on how big or small this kingdom actually is.
It’s time for the Royal Tour. Mia, originally, was supposed to go with her father. However, Jesse let it be known that Mia used her powers on him and now she has to face punishment. Instead, Sonya will go with Victor. Meanwhile, Rose is supposed to get her first tattoo because she killed her first Strigoi. However, as that Strigoi also happened to be her friend Mikhail, Rose feels guilty and runs away from the ceremony.
So, we cut to the tour. Jesse is getting impatient because Lissa has not set a date for their marriage and because his father is getting angry because a date hasn’t been set. However, Lissa makes it clear that she wants Jesse’s father to get her an invitation to a certain vampire’s (Adrian) party before she will set a date. She wants to go to that party as Adrian might be able to shed more light on her abilities. Jesse says he can’t make his father do that, so Lissa goes talk with the father.
Meanwhile, Sonya’s powers are getting out of control. She is able to read auras and finds out that Jesse is being abused by his dad (just go with it). Sonya tells her Victor; he figures that’s good information to know.
Meanwhile, the Prospects are talking about the fact that some of the local villages are being forced to evacuate as there are no Guardians to protect said villages. We also find out that Mason’s dad is making money from this. However, Rose finds out that one of the villages to be evacuated is the one Mikhail is from. Long story short, as Rose has killed a Strigoi, she is able to be reassigned to evacuation duty of that village. Of course, the person in charge of that evacuation is Dimitri.
Dimitri and Rose go to the village. Dimitri asks Rose why she really wants to come and she explains that she wants to talk to Mikhail’s family and apologize for killing him. Mikhail’s sister, Sophie, doesn’t want to hear it and leaves the room. However, Mikhail’s father lets Rose know that Mikhail’s greatest fear was to become a Strigoi and so, what Rose did was actually a mercy. We also find out that Mikhail’s family is a rarity. The father is a Moroi, but he loved the Dhampir he had children with and chose to live in the village with the family.
Rose goes outside and finds out that Sophie is building a funeral pyre as her father won’t likely survive another day. Rose tells Sophie that she should be with her father and Rose will keep watch that night. This doesn’t please Dimitri as he was sent to bring Sophie back for desertion. Still, they stay.
Meanwhile, Mia is facing her punishment and it’s a doozy. She’s basically forced to scar her own hand to show that she attacked another. Afterwards, Christian happens to be walking by where she's standing and for the first time they really talk. And he sees what's happened to her hands. He also tries to help her kind of gain some control over her powers. It looks like when she attacked Jesse, things went out of control. But she also mentions to him that because her father is Victor, she does hear things that others don't know about. So, she knows that Christians parents are looking for him. She asks Christian if he’s told Lissa, which he says he hasn’t. She tells him he should be honest. She also lets him know that, if he needs to talk, she’d listen.
Meanwhile, at the party, Jesse is attacked by his father and then demands to leave. One of the Prospects tells Jesse they need to wait for the convoy, but Jesse makes it clear they’re going. Lissa and Meridith leave as well. However, as they are driving through a tunnel; they find the exit blocked. And then the entrance is blocked and Strigoi attack. Meridith and the other Prospect get out to fight, telling the Moroi to stay in the car (because it’s not like magic could help here). Meridith is badly wounded and it looks like Jesse might be (willingly?) turned into a Strigoi; when more Guardians arrive and kill the Strigoi. Lissa tries to heal Meridith; but she’s pulled off of her by a Guardian and whisked away.
At this point, Lissa has had enough of Jesse’s shit and uses her powers to make him go away. Too bad not directly into the sun. Also, Lissa sees a hallucination of her brother. Meanwhile, Meridith is somehow back at the Academy? Mia learns from Sonya about the attack and rushes down to check on her. They have a sweet moment together.
And I’m just going to get the rest of the story out of the way. Rose and Dimitri defend the village. And, once the father dies, Sophie comes out to help. Rose tells Sophie to run away. Dimitri is angry at Rose as it could lead them all into a world of trouble. But, when asked what happened to Sophie, Dimitri lies and says she was killed in battle.
Lissa does get an invite to that Adrian’s party. And, long story short, She finds out that Adrian might be able to help her because he has spirit magic too.
Finally, we have Tatiana just harassing Sonya. Telling her that Mikhail just wasn’t good enough and telling others that Mikhail wanted to be a Strigoi. This causes Sonya to snap and she tries to attack Tatiana. Of course, this is all captured on video and shown everywhere. Victor promises to get Sonya the help she needs.
