triss and philippa strike the perfect power dynamic - triss needs an authority to look up to, she enjoyes praise and validation and knowing exactly what's expected of her. and philippa is calculating, clever, enjoys being in charge and being obeyed. the perfect combo for both of them to get their wishes fulfilled without much political consequences (as sorceresses they're pretty much beyond any judgement.)
