Also on my rewatch of Merlin s5, a thing Merlin said really aNNOYEd ME

OKAY so Mordred comes from the druids - UTHER HATES THe DRUIDS CAUSE THEY PRACTICE MAGIC. Arthur CLEARLY knows this, CLEARLY knows Mordred is a druid boy (after helping him in season 1). So he should, by default, know that MORDRED HAS MAGIC or at least HAS PRACTICED magic. Uther wanTED TO KILL MORDRED cause he's a druid.

But in 5x02 when Mordred is made a knight, Merlin's all like 'WeLl If ArThUr KnEw YoU hAd MaGiC yOu WoUlDn'T bE hErE.'

But like he SHOULD KNOW!??!?! LIKE ARTHUR??!?!! HAVE YOU FORGOTTEN HOW YOU METTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT. Also the fact that he hangs around Morgana for half of 5x02 should remind you of the fact that HE HAS MAGIC? LIKE HOW DOES THIS NOT COME UP IN AT LEAST ONE CONVERSATION. EVEN JUST A yeah he did practice magic when he was younger but he doesn't anymore?

Arthur grew up being forced to HATE the druids and he just forgets an ex-druid child is a druid like ?????? We're just supposed to think that Arthur's forgotten Mordred's origins like whAT.

So, again, watching Merlin and the Diamair says that Arthur's bane is himself not Mordred but lol like hOW? It's so stupid.

Cause honestly Arthur is really careful about stuff esp kingdom stuff, listens to people, weighs up his decisions before making a decision, treats Mordred fairly and is on his way to legalising magic.

But then Merlin stops Arthur from legalising magic lIKE DONT DO IT ARTHUR. DONT YOU DO IT which sets off the entire motion of events which ostracises Mordred (which IMO could be totally reversed, but again MERLIN).

So if anyone is Arthur's bane is it not Merlin cause he's trying hard to fulfil a prophecy which, in turn, totally becomes a self-fulfilling one?

Like Merlin caused all of this??

The only way I can come to terms with Arthur's death in Merlin is that he almost died like 5 bazillion times so it was just a matter of time really. And then I think about Merlin and how he spent most of his life saving him and never got to tell him all the true, crazy, awesome stories he has had (because let's be honest, it would have been great seeing Arthur's face and how much reverse fomo he would be experiencing) and I just want to die all over again. I can't even rewatch the series because all I can think about is how ARTHUR WILL NEVER KNOW THIS HAPPENED, LITERALLY EVER...and that is a true tragedy. That and Merlin having a long shitty life of waiting around thinking he can tell Arthur these things one day because that damn dragon told him to wait around and that he would return....>< Literally giving us hopes and dreams and then just stomping on our hearts with that ending, like...jk...MAYBE NOT?

Merlin and why I hate tv shows

I spent 3 weeks avoiding the last two episodes of Merlin. Why? Because it is 2016 and there were enough spoilers for me to know what “happens”. I kept trying to talk myself out of it, but NO...I still had this awful feeling.

Well, tonight I overcame my fear. AND IT SUCKED BALLS. Not only am I an emotional mess, but I’m ALSO PISSED. Merlin WILL NEVER BE THE FUCKING SAME!? HOW CAN THE DIRECTORS BE ALRIGHT WITH THAT. Like, his life is just like, well, my destiny is done and now I got nothing and my best friend is dead. WTF MATE. I can’t tell if I’m using anger as a way to avoid my immense feelings, but I really hate this ending...MORE THAN THE HIMYM ending and Eddard Stark dying in the first season of GOT combined. Worst death, ending ever. EVER. I actually still may be in denial really, because I’m still convinced that there is NO REASON he had to die and 5 seasons were for a stupid kingdom. NO. They were for ARTHUR. NOT CAMELOT. I don’t think I can ever see Merlin happy again and that literally breaks my heart.

I’m just going to pretend season 5 never happened, insert that whole Merlin kills Morgana scene and Arthur reveals his magic at the little cove in The Disir into season 4 and get on with my life and not cry myself to sleep BECAUSE YOU CANT TELL US THAT MERLIN AND ARTHUR ARE THE HEADS OF THE SAME COIN OR WHAT NOT AND THEN JUST FORGET THAT...jesus christ. like Merlin can’t exist without Arthur. Personal opinion/the fucking dragons opinion in season one....so I mean...no. MY HEART.

I only half know what I am saying, but seriously, just...the dragons final explanation didn’t even work for me because then you bring old Merlin out and he is just giggitying down a damn road, like the fuck...when the fuck is Arthur coming back. Merlin needs to have other reasons to save Arthur to do more magic. God damn this show.
