Decided to do a character study and try out some digital sketching. I went with Vagrant Story because I feel like Cal got shafted in the last one I did several years ago. I wanted to do her justice.

Io scrivo per scoprire qualcosa che mi è ancora sconosciuto, piuttosto che per raccontare agli altri qualcosa che mi è già conosciuto: è molto più facile sedersi a pranzo con un amico e raccontargli delle cose. Se invece mi siedo a un tavolo e comincio a scrivere, cosa che ho fatto per questi ventuno anni,  è perché sono io che desidero portare alla luce qualcosa di assolutamente nascosto, dei tabù, dei segreti, l’indescrivibile. Come diceva T.S. Eliot, “un raggio sull'inarticolato”, qualcosa che, secondo me, deve essere assolutamente vero per qualsiasi scrittore.

I just confirmed my plans to attend A-kon this year! I'm really excited to return to Texas and one of my favorite conventions. ❤️ Seeing A-kon in the Fort Worth Convention Center will be an interesting change, but I will deeply miss the beautiful Hilton Anatole hotel. Here's a photo of our Vagrant Story group in 2015, featuring the stone gazebo thing that everyone got yelled at for posing on!

We competed in the contest with these costumes and got 2nd Place Masters! It was a memorable weekend.

For Throwback Thursday, here's my first ever leather armor project! Merlose from Vagrant Story is one of my all-time favorite cosplays, but it's so difficult to wear that I don't do it often. I made this costume for Dragon Con in 2014.

I'm gonna be spending the rest of today working on my newest armor project! Expect some leather progress photos later on.

I've chosen a different eye color every time I wear this costume, but I think the green is going to stick. These are the Super Pinky Green lenses, which is one of my favorite brands.
