I definitely wasn't expecting to post a band I would describe as metal/psych/folk. I also wasn't expecting that said band would be a duo from Auckland, New Zealand. Earth Tongue are absolutely a nice edition to our lead up to Halloween 2025 (their album, on In The Red, is "Great Haunting" for crying out loud). And for those of us on the West Coast of the U.S., you might have the opportunity to see them live. They'll be playing at the Great American Music Hall on October 30th.

They definitely have a Ty Segall/Fuzz feel to them. Some will compare them to fellow Kiwis Mermaidens or Wax Chattels, while others will focus on the hard psych and mention Kikagaku Moyo.

*The obvious pull to large bodies of water like lakes, rivers and the ocean.

*Listens to recordings of the sounds of the ocean/water when away.

*Loves long baths and showers.

*Uses lots of lotion, chapstick & conditioner when on land to stay moisturized (Reef-Safe).

*Always thirsty/drinks a lot of water.

*Ethically collects beach shells, rocks & sand.

*Under water motifs everywhere!

*Watches a lot of marine/sealife nature documentaries.

*Studies Marine Biology/Ecology, Environmentalism or similar major & interests.

*Passionate about preserving aquatic environments!

*Might be vegetarian/vegan/against the consumption of fish, or might be pescetarian & sometimes have the sudden impulse to eat aquarium fish.

*Loves music and/or singing & humming.

*Excellent non-verbal communication (can't speak underwater).
