merman dante crawling on land looking for roses to pick for y/n as a gift.

You stare down at the merman propped up at your feet, e/c eyes meeting Dante's blues as his gaze meets yours. Water slowly drips down his shirtless body and red tail, a trail of it leading across the sand from your beach chair back to the edge of the tide.

He looked like a wet dog, and smelled like fish (and a bit of the pizza he'd occasionally steal off the nearby boardwalk). Where'd Dante get that rose is anyone's guess.

... But damn it, if he wasn't still charming regardless.

And that fucking smirk...

Merman Dante poses seductively before you with a rose in his mouth. All you can wonder is where he even got the rose in the first place.

Like I've said: he smells like a fish and looks like a wet dog from dragging himself out of the water.

But damn, Dante's a charming bastard for someone half-fish.

He looked like an offended sea lion dragging himself across the beach, his tail kicking up sand as he moved back towards the safety of the sea. A rose was clenched between Dante's teeth, snagged off a seaside table when the human attending it wasn't paying attention.

He'd miscalculated the time, the tides already having began its retreat right after the white-haired merman first surfaced. But it was worth it. Flowers don't grow underwater after all, and what better than a rose?

Just hope his mate accepts the courting gift...
