Flambae being a merman that still has his fire powers. He is pissed about it. His powers are useless underwater, his schoolmates used to tease him about it. His fire on land, can make him feel uncomfortable and a bit cranky. Depending on how much he uses his powers, he might get sick and need to take a break in a body of water. His breaks can be anything from an hour to a week. (He transforms in these breaks)

He is weary of Waterboy, as he is trying to keep the whole merman thing under wraps. It's more difficult to not change into a merman when he suddenly gets wet. If it's expected, like shower or rain, he can hold the transformation off.

He eventually manages to stay alit underwater water as a merman. No one is sure how he does it, including himself. It defines all logic, but looks cool as hell.

Imagine being [damn i want to put it more crass than this but if i do i'm going to nitpick it because i keep laughing at the wording] buried deep into your partner and then getting a literal chunk bitten off of you.

Yeah, that was Merbae/Flambae/Chad's experience;

two of his fingers getting bit off was not in the plan as the slender mer beneath him writhed in pleasure; their tails coiled around each other as they both shuddered.
