do mernymphs have any noticeable non-human features while in their human form or do they just look like typical people?
I apologize for my atrocious handwriting but! while the mernymphs are inspired by the fishpeople in luca, they arent the exact same! they still maintain fishy features on the surface and can be characterized by their scale freckles, sharp teeth and deep dark eyes, but most noticably their ear fins in place of ears. their color and body type varies on their location and depth zone they evolved in- surface level mers being slender and dark skinned to protect them from the sun and deep sea mers being pale and chubby with blubber to protect them from the freezing cold, intense pressure, little sunlight and limited food sources, just like irl seafaring animals! deep sea mers dont typically go to the surface unless they have a reason to, but surface mers like to say hello.
