Estate Warming || Merry&Taurus
The wolf's gift rattled like the first stages of a haunting as he dropped the hemp bag it was carried in inside the jester's new home. He'd voted for him, having stared at the options for some time trying to mostly determine what would be best for his daughter. Other candidates were less...erratic, that was probably the best word, but he really didn't trust how connected to the other courts they were. If he could say Merry did anything it was exemplify what Destarin was, and, for Taurus anyway, he doubted any of the courts could even fathom the desires of the man enough to manipulate him, which beyond amusement would be helpful for preventing their sticky fingers getting into the towns business.
Still, he was shocked when Merry'd actually won, less about the deatils that followed, having heard the drunken Governor had stumbled home with a date that evening. It had brought the smallest of smirks to the wolf's lips as people had gossiped the next few days across taverns and squares. Certainly it helped him feel a confidence that he might revisit the jester. Check in, as it were.
"Didn't want your new place lacking for the appropriate...safety features," Taurus told his new Governor, the light sheer fabric of his blouse hanging loosely down his chest. It was still hot to him, even if they were starting on the colder months of the year, the winter wolf would not feel at home until snow was beneath his steps. Merry could probably see it, the way sweat sat around the strands of hair at the sides of his neck that had been missed by the metal sword pin he had it tied back in. The pin, like the few steel chains hung around his neck were enchanted to remained cold, like ice to the touch but it was rarely ever enough to stop him overheating inside buildings or beneath the blistering sun at the height of the day.
"Can put them in if you like," he added, flexing fingers with a collection of steel rings, most featuring swords or wolves to their design, some having obsidian, onyx, or alexandrite to them. They were just a hint at the wealth the wolf wasn't incentivised to display and end up robbed for in a town like Destarin, though his gift of chains had been specifically chosen for the jester, and so more expensive than the ones he'd shown up trying to offer before the strawberry moon.
