I hope you are aware that your blog has incentivised me to buy the whole series 1-5 box set and rewatch Merlin. I believe I was 10 when it started airing and occasionally caught an episode and found them to be quite fun. Now I stumble across Merlin (series) once more and wonder what I missed and am also very against streaming services. I believe I shall treat myself for xmas with the aforementioned box set.

After I gathered my tear-stained heart pieces up off the floor....If I decided to write post season finale (provided I'd recovered from the nuclear attack on my poor heart...) I would love to explore the return of Arthur (as prophesied) either in the modern world...or via Merlin going back in time and making different choices to preserve Arthur, but at what cost?

Dun. Dun. Dun. So many possibilities to play with there and I'm sure many fanfic writers have dabbled and delved into these potential plots...I'd love a crack at it though.

Alternatively, I'd be curious to explore the trajectory of Merthur if Arthur had lost Gwen...either due to not forgiving her betrayal with Lancelot...

...or losing her to evil!Gwen (under Morgana's influence)...or losing her to Lancelot...

...or to death....how he'd cope with that...and Merlin's role in helping him gather his life at that point to move forwards....

...oh it's rich with possibility, regardless of which scenario I decided to run with, I'd travel down the Merthur road...
