KPDH in My Culture

"No more hiding, now I'm shining, like I'm born to be!"

Did that trend where you draw the KPDH in your culture. So check out these Aztec (Meshika) Demon Hunters!

Context about the piece: Red is a pregnant married woman, wiedling a bow with obsidian shard arrows and wearing an archer's outfit. Blue is two spirit, with a macuahuitl (club) as well as decked out in a dancer's outfit along with a tecciztli (conch shell) which is used to draw in spirits for strength when performing (like...the honmoon-). Green is a cuahtli warrior (elite eagle warrior) with an obsidian tipped spear (lots of obsidian lol), her crest on the waist resembles Huitzilopochtli's club, the god of the sun and war. The ayoyotes (shells) on their ankles help stay within rhythm (as we know harmony is important to kpdh) and the feathers are also believed to help draw in strength for performing or battle.

It was really fun to create this piece and I hope that y'all like it! Especially since if I were to post this on tiktok, I'd get a fuck ton of racist comments. Tumblr is just more chill.

Symbolism still holds true, but note that poinsettias are actually called cuetlaxochitl. Some asshole US slave owner named Joel Poinsett claimed discovery of these flowers, named it after himself, and advertised it as Christmas decorations. Cuetlaxochitls are native to Mexico, blooming in the winter, and historically believed to have medicinal properties. It's name means "the mortal flower" for, as all living things do, bloom then wither.
