here's a little Mesopsocus, famous for being nature's take on the concept of little aliens who ride flying saucers. these things are always ridiculous, but they're usually pale greys and browns - the custard color on this one makes it look even more like a fake knickknack a quirky old lady would have in her hallway somewhere

trees have a way of providing gifts from above even if you're just turning over some leaves and not actually beating or shaking branches. the most common offenders are panicking spiderlings and ants, but shout out to this ridiculous Mesopsocus immunis that fell on me out of nowhere and is so small that i can't even tell what part of my body it was on when i took this photo

Ive maintained before that barklice or Psocoptera/Psocodea are the cutest of all insects, an opinion that I still stand by.
