Yes! Mary thinks animals are absolutely fascinating! She can’t really choose a favorite, though, she likes them all. And when it comes to mythological creatures, after ending up in New Home, she’s pretty open to the idea!

As of now, they’d probably not even realize they have a crush and think of it as ‘Hey!!! I really really really like this person and want them to be my bestest friend!!!!!!’ and drag them along on adventures constantly.
But when they’re older, they’d probably write a love letter or something of that sort confessing it. They’d also be extremely tsundere about their crush to anyone who teased them about it.
