On July 16, 1782, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart‘s opera was performed in the old Burgtheater in Vienna "The Abduction from the Seraglio" premiered.

The 26-year-old composer conducted himself. It was a great success. The portrait on the old postcard was also painted by the composer's brother-in-law Joseph Lange in 1782. The old Burgtheater was built in 1741 and destroyed in 1889.

Here we see this old Italian Magazine from Juni 1883 with a review of the World premiere from Léo Delibes Opera „Lakmé“ in Paris. The Soprano Marie van Zandt (1858-1919) was Lakmé and the Tenor Jean-Alexandre Talazac (1851-1896). was Gérald.

This postcard was sent in Salzburg in 1906. The occasion was the 150th birthday of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. To this day he is the most played composer and will also please future generations.

On this antique Postcard from 1902 we see the Festspielhaus in Bayreuth. In one week the Bayreuther Festspiele - Bayreuth Festival starts with “Tristan und Isolde” an a new “Ring”.
