Your Nicolas is very dapper, displaying an open confidence, almost like it's been carefully reversed. What him become this business man like figure?
ooc:
What made him become this cold heart bastard obsessed with Armani attires?
well, it’s been a conscious decision on my side when I began exploring Nicolas and delved a bit into his psyche. As his sanity declined and if I remember correctly also mentioned in TVL, Nicolas looked disheveled. Shirt un-tucked in his pants, jacket torn, hair spilling from his ribbon.
I went a bit forward and imagined how he looked and felt after he survived the fire. Burned and in agony, clothes being close to rags. I thought a bit of Frankenstein monster, scarred and trying to hide and survive, his mind still healing, his memories fragmented after the shock of being thrown in the fire. He became this sort of feral, hungry, scarred vampire, limping as much as he could, trying to find blood, living at first from the blood of animals, rodents and rabbits.
This wounded creature stumbled upon Santino and with his help and Riccardo’s he began to heal and put himself back, in mind, spirit and body.
What sealed the deal and made him take on this polished, calculated look were the following ordeals he had to endure: finding out Santiago had been killed and I also expanded a bit further with meeting Marcus.
Nicolas is prone to feeling too much even since he was a mortal, he’s like a glutton for what intense misery others feel and he connects directly with the suffering and anguish to the point he needs a relief, this one being his music, it makes him focus on something else until he can entangle himself from these emotions. I wouldn’t say he is necessary an empath but he’s extra sensitive when it comes to a particular set of emotions.
This is another reason that he forced upon himself a certain cold attitude and tried to avoid company, so he wouldn’t latch on misery and suffering and so he wouldn’t be hurt.
Being on his own made him conscious on the fact he was an easy target for stronger vampires so he became rather savvy in thinking and researching the grounds first and before moving in. Knowing that acting and looking the part means a half won battle, he perfected his look and attitude.
From the lad with a disheveled look, my Nicolas moved to a more structured image. He traded the red velvet coat for black attires and remains faithful to full black suits. Having been burned, having had his hands severed, he became rather conscious of his look and a little bit vain, carefully grooming his appearance.
He gives at first sight the image of a vain, cold bastard. I tend to use Shrek’s metaphor of “peeling an onion” layer by layer when it comes to Nicolas. And, although he gives the impression he is very arrogant, he is very loyal to those he considers his friends. Frankly, he just needs some love :D
Welcome to my TED about my darling son :)
