This is how Berghain 01 ends. Released in 2005 and mixed by Andre Galluzzi. But before Berghain, there was Ostgut. And Andre Galluzzi was there long before. He comes from the Frankfurt school of techno and has been DJing since the early 90s. He moved to Berlin sometime in the 90s. After Ostgut closed in 2001 Galluzzi released the legendary Mix Compilation …im Garden.
Recently, Ryan Elliot mentioned in the small introduction to their performance for Ostgut Ton aus der Halle am Berghain, celebrating Ostgut Ton’s 16th birthday: “I remember, early 2000s I had his mixed cd, …im Garden. It was amazing, it was all the good stuff from that time. And it was the garden that predates this club. I knew his importance in the history of the place”.
This post comes just a few day before the re-opening of Berghain, having been closed for so long.
