He had an agenda, a task that needed to become a reality, no matter how long it took.

Sylus had figured out a way to dimension jump. He stared at the documents on his desk, the biggest grin he'd ever worn plasted on his face. They had finally done it.
After a grueling year of research, pulling every connection he had and more, he had the twins work on calculations; they crunched, gathered materials, and put plans into place.
All of that led to this moment. His hand trembled slightly. It was time to start. He couldn’t afford to make any mistakes. Time was his enemy.
Sylus started small, making a gateway the size of a shoebox, powered by protocores. Coordinates for the desired dimension were linked by specific energy signatures he gathered every time she appeared.
When activated, he could see a glimpse of the other side; sunny as opposed to the night from his end.
He sent through a prototype, a small robot to gather intel. It stayed for hours, going undetected much to Sylus' relief. The Onychinus leader noted that the portal door would glitch from time to time due to the protocore overheating.
When the robot returned and the door deactivated, the gateway disintegrated in split seconds.
"Protocores aren't the best energy source it seems."
Sylus studied and analyzed the data found. That world seemed to possess so many similar traits to his and lacking in others.
It wasn't technologically advanced, atmospheric pressure was slightly lower, the planet's temperature could be better and there was an absence of Evol.
He was already aware that his very existence was some kind of game on her end but as he sat, surrounded by evidence of another world, he pondered on what would happen if he traveled there? What would become of him in a place where supernatural abilities didn't exist?
Why did the thought of possibly not having an evol excite him?
He brainstormed so many possibilities, weighed the pros and cons. A part of him said it was a bad idea, to forget it. Yet, he couldn’t ignore this, couldn't walk away knowing she was on the other side.
Thats why it took him two weeks to rebuild another gateway, this time using a combination of stronger protcores and his evol.
The gateway seemed more stable, the image of the other side, clearer than the last. He needed to find out more. He needed to find her.
