Okay but
As much as I like metalkinesis, y’know what makes more sense and much more fun?
Gravity-kinesis. And. Intertia-kinesis. (Okay mainly gravity bc it’s a fundamental force, just like Electro-magnetism is a fundamental force, so inheriting it from Magneto seems more likely)
Because if you watch this video, it explains how his powers could be in fact related to gravity and inertia control, just very instinctively used in very specific ways to control his super-speed. Which is cool and all.
But like.
If he learns to manage the control he has over these forces, he could do what the video says and create giant freakking explosions. Or! Sonic booms. Or wind from fast movement (another comics power), or literally any range of abilities. But tbh I think there is a HUGE SHIT TON of untapped potential to be considered in the very nature of gravity and inertia WITHOUT super speed.
Imagine Peter learns to nullify inertia and gravity in people around him, without a trigger like carrying them. He taps the Juggernaut in the middle of a damn charge, and the guys suddenly floating straight up- without any momentum to go forward. Can’t run, can’t charge. Guy’s suddenly not so unstoppable.
Or let’s say he doesn’t like this door. Tap part of it, drastically increase the gravity, and boom- the door collapses in on itself.
Need to knock a whole room full of baddies defending some Evil Lab that’s making medicine out of mutant spit? Invert all gravity in the room. Everyone hits the ceiling. Those that aren’t knocked unconscious by falling on their heads will still be on the ceiling and probably pretty unbalanced.
And on inertia alone- forget grabbing bullets in midair, you could literally stop an entire wall of bullets by canceling inertia in the projectiles- they just fall to the ground. Apply this to things Peter can’t easily touch, like say lasers and fire, and suddenly you’ve got nigh-untouchable shielding.
Like everything this fandom talks about Peter doing with Magneto’s metal-bending powers could be done with gravity control. Granted with enough accuracy, gravity control is basically telekinesis. But here’s the thing- gravity does more than just move stuff, it meddles with time, space, and there's SO MUCH that can be done with gravity and inertia.
IDK I just feel like there’s an amazing power set that everyone’s sleeping on.
