"I thought I'd never be more than a fanboy. And even when I got accepted as a junior lightweight, you were just so far out of reach. My eyes were on you, and yours were on someone else."
"What can I say, I've always had an affinity for cats. My eyes are on you now though, got it?"
"Until Retsarra gives you a little whimper and you go running."
"Well, you might have me there, but from now on, I'm gonna come running for you too. First even."
"There's only so much time before I have to go. Do we really have to keep sneaking around?"
"It's not sneaking around. Once the fans hear about us they'll be all over us. I'm tryin' to get in every second I can with you before yah go and off and leave me here."
"I'm not leaving you, not really. I'll be back as often as my adventure allows it. And you'll have Eutrope and Retsarra here to keep you company."
"Yer right...Just don't stay away too long. And take my key. I don't care what hour it is, just come back to me."

Eternal Grand Champion. The title still seemed like another language to Meteor. He'd gone from just another Brute Bomber fanboy to one of the most recognized faces in Solution 9 overnight. With the added moniker of Warrior of Light, he felt his life changing rapidly. While he liked the attention, he also missed the autonomy to walk around without being mobbed. And of course, it made it near impossible to go visit Hector.
Taking a inspiration from Retsarra, he donned a ball-cap and sunglasses, doing his best to hide his features as he tried to leave from the Arcadion without getting spotted. Getting by an initial crowd of people, he hightailed it to the nearest staircase to take the lower paths under the Recreation Zone. A bit nervous he looked over his shoulder while hurrying along, quickly finding himself running into something warm and quite sturdy.
"Oof," a familiar voice grunted from above.
Meteor staggered back, shaking out his head. "Sorry! Just passing through…Oh, it's you!" he said wryly, finding Red Hot peeking down at him through his bangs. "Are you expected for a match? Where's your worse half?"
"I'm mad a him," Red Hot answered, to the point as always.
"Well, that isn't surprising, he's well…no offense, kind of an ass," Meteor said, feeling his ears fold under his hat.
Red Hot crossed his arms. "He's still my bro."
"Right…right," Meteor responded awkwardly, trying to find a good way around the hulk of a Hyune. "Well, you really need him do you? You're pretty tough on your own!"
Shaking his head, Red Hot sighed. "I do. He's my bro."
"Er…" Meteor sounded, feeling like he wasn't going to get anywhere fast, physically and conversationally. "Do you want to talk about it?"
Red Hot nodded. Meteor stared.
Sighing, Meteor rubbed his face. "What has you mad at him?"
"I wanted to help the kitty cats clean up their gym, but he would not let me," Red Hot answered. "Sometimes, I don't want be the bad guys."
Meteor frowned a little. "Well, I guess that would be hard to always keep up that persona. Dancing Green said something similar after our fight. I know I'm just an upstart, but all the attention has been a lot. You've been doing this for awhile…so I kinda understand. Just like Hector, he isn't a bad guy. He's really sweet and…um…," he said, flushing a little as he found himself getting away from the subject. "You could always tell him 'no' too."
"I cannot."
Meteor waited for explanation, quickly remembering it wouldn't be coming unless he asked. "Why not?"
"He's my-"
"Yes, yes. Your bro. Why does that mean you have to do whatever he says?" Meteor pressed.
Red Hot went silent for a moment, head dipping down as if he were nodding off where he stood before answering. "He saved my life."
"When, where, why, how?" Meteor demanded, moving to lean on the stair rail.
Red Hot brushed his fingers out from his bangs, looking down at Meteor with his light blue eyes. "When we were little. I fell into a pool and didn't know how to swim yet. He jumped in and pulled me out and gave me mouth to mouth…I'm not supposed to say that, I think. Anyway, we were bros for life after. He taught me how to swim and we learned to surf together. He's always been kind of a bad bunny, and when the Director took us in he really dedicated himself to being a heel, and made sure I was brought on as his partner. So when it comes to Yaku, er…Deep Blue I owe him. He's my most special someone. I gotta forgive him, even when he's being bad. Get it?"
Meteor blushed a bit at the revelation. "I do. I feel the same way about Hector…er, Brute Bomber. He can be a little much at times. Go too far. Sometimes though you gotta remind them though that there are real consequences, even when we're putting on a show. You gotta save him sometimes from himself. Tell him you love him, but he's wrong this time. You're partners, so you gotta have equal say. Does that make sense?"
Red Hot kept his air of stoicism, then gave a nod. "Yeah."
Nodding back, Meteor lifted off the railing then made a motion to get around Red Hot only to find Deep Blue stomping up the stairs toward them, brows furrowed.
"There you are! What? You get your feelings hurt and run to cry to the Champ?" Blue asked in a huff.
Red Hot turned, inhaling deeply before saying, "Yaku, I love you but you are wrong."
Deep Blue's face went crimson, taking a step back. "Bro! The Champ's right there! You can't be sayin' that kind of stuff."
Red Hot shook his head. "I'm gonna help the kitty cats put their gym back together. It is the right thing to do. You had too much fun smashing things and went too far. Sometimes, I have to save you. Because I love you bro."
Meteor watched as Red Hot's cheeks also reddened as he stared down his partner, fists balled. Deep Blue cursed under his breath then shook his head. "Do whatever you want if you gotta but stop sayin' that in front of people. You'll give people the wrong idea, bro! Forget practice, I'm gonna go for a surf on my own. Enjoy being a goody-two shoes and I'll see you at home. And don't call me Yaku in front of people!" he yelled turning quickly to storm off.
Red Hot's shoulders dropped a little as the other went out of view. Unsure what to do, Meteor reached up and gave the other a little pat on the arm. "Ah. You good?"
"Yeah, he just doesn't like it when I say his real name outside of the bedroom…" Red Hot answered with a slight nod. "He'll cool off. And now I can go help. Thanks."
Meteor nodded then let Red Hot by, he assumed to make amends with everyone at Tritails Training. Staring, he blinked then aloud he asked himself, "He really meant apartment, right?"
