She wrapped her shawl loosely around her shoulders, making sure to tuck her hair neatly inside of it. Normally it was traditional for those of the royal court to keep their hair braided in some fashion. Without all the makeup and finesse she looked just as normal as anyone else, and surprisingly without it no one seemed to recognize her.  Well, it helped that she wore a hood, too, of course.

Lately security had been a little tighter than usual. A feud with the neighboring kingdom had resulted in a few unwelcome threats, the most recent being the discovery of a group of mercenaries that had been stopped in the courtyard of the castle. She wasn't worried so much about that, though.

Instead, she was worried more about the village. A few farms on the outer limits had been razed that very night, although the party responsible was yet to be found. Some suspected the bands of mercs to be possible, while others blamed the supposed 'dragon' the lived in the mountains. Regardless as to who was at fault, she knew the people that lived there, and she felt it her duty to go visit them. Despite the security, it had been easy enough to sneak out. A simple bribe to the guard near the bottom of the North Tower was all it took.

She made her way through the village, greetings those that walked by just as she normally would. She didn't have much time, as the guard's shift would be over soon and she would have to return before dusk. She picked up a few things from one of the local vendors - some bread and meat as a gift for the farmers. Genna had just finished putting all of the things into her basket when she turned around and in the process bumped into a male that was behind her, dropping her basket  in the process.

"Oh, I'm-!" She paused, emeralds widening ever so slightly, as she caught sight of the person she had hit. It was the strange boy from the mountains, the one the townspeople always talked about. She had only seen him a few times before, as he was leaving the village, but she had never seen him this close in person. Her basket was still lying on the ground, completely forgotten by the princess as her curiosity was quickly getting the better of her. "..so sorry. I didn't hurt you, did I?"
