Met Gala 2020 Decided to Quarantine So Fashion Fans Hijacked It
The Met Gala – like every other year – was set to be held at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York. However, New York City was announced the epicenter of the COVID-19 pandemic in the United States, late March.
However, with Met Gala postponed for an indefinite period of time, it is difficult to say whether it will happen or not at all. Vogue cited that an email sent to Met staffers on March 16 stated that the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown has led the museum to “remain closed through Saturday, April 4.” A spokesperson confirming the same, added that the decision was taken after the Centers for Disease Control has recommended against holding a gathering of 50 people or more in the coming eight weeks.
