Okay so I've been testing some proper "Long Missiles." I have come up with what should be termed an "Assassination Missile." I gave it RIPPER and NOBOSSRIP and lowered the impact damage to 200 (from 520, so it's not terribly overpowered against mooks) but gave it a 420 blast in a tiny radius on impact to compensate. The idea is to be able to hit key targets through even the thickest horde of mooks, hence "Assassination Missile." Good for crowd control like the Wave and Spazer combos.
A lot of people have been coming up with an idea like that, turning the long missile into a railgun of sorts and letting it hit multiple people.
While on paper it sounds like a decent idea, I have a bit of a problem with it because ripping things is the plasma’s role, and creating a ripper that hits multiple people kind of goes against the idea of a single-target juggernaut that it’s supposed to be.
Honestly, your idea is probably the best take I’ve heard on it yet, though ideally I’d like for it to be able to stop at whatever enemy the player deems fit, rather than just the bosses like Cybers and Spiders. ‘Cause God knows being able to lock onto an Archvile and wreck his day would be absolutely wonderful.
Sir Ridley smashing together the separately awesome worlds of Metroid and Daft Punk together to create something just as alien, but also very humanly catchy. I usually say Daft Punk mashups are copouts since Daft Punk is so damn good. I also say that very few people seem to nail anything having to do with the music of Metroid. So I suppose the two cancel one other out and this is a damn fine song.
A mashup of the theme from Metroid Prime: Echoes by Kenji Yamamoto and the song End Of Line (Photek Remix) by Daft Punk.

In honor of Metroid's 25th Anniversary, my favorite song.
