I think a lot of game-inspired artists love the chance to draw Samus; and I was thrilled when @ocremix asked me to draw two pieces for them based off Super Metroid! (► See the companion artwork here) I wanted this to be very atmospheric; showing off the pretty environments of Brinstar, but also Samus connecting with her Chozo heritage (+ getting power ups!). The SNES game made these rooms a bit plain, so I wanted to embellish it and create something influenced by Chozo architecture/ruins found in other, more recent, Metroid games. ⭐
