For me, the most annoying fandom trope out there, or at least the most annoying fanfic trope, is when the story takes place in a modern day setting and all of the (protagonist) characters have their life stories/politics heavily shifted in the direction the author finds more sympathetic regardless of what they were in canon. That "knight who becomes a social worker instead of a cop" example you reblogged a while back being a perfect example of what I mean.

Pour one out for all the Game of Thrones modern AUs where you can tell who the author likes by which feudal aristocrats magically become vaguely middle class hipsters/nerds with fashionably twitter-progressive politics.

they're independent! although, our DM keeps putting guilds in the world, so maybe we should consider joining one 🤔

In regards to Octavia, I like to think she spent most of Prime's invasion sailing around and never getting caught, perhaps rescuing some Salineas citizens.

i’m neutral on this one. haven’t really thought about it too much... mostly cause i kind of forget lonnie exists a lot of the time. she’s really one of those characters who feels superfluous because the writers clearly did not know what to do with her as a character. she doesn’t really have much of an arc, she’s just kind of there to increase the cast count and make it seem like there’s more characters.

which is a shame because i have spoken at length about a potential way you could’ve used lonnie as a more important character. it requires leaving rogelio and kyle on the cutting room floor (which imo is not really a big loss since they add even less than lonnie does to the story but i digress), but if you essentially upgrade lonnie to being a childhood friend of catra and adora’s, you could have expanded her role and have her be another person who is focused on to showcase how adora leaving affected people back at the fright zone. they kind of touched upon this for half a second in season one and then it’s never spoken of again but

imagine how you could have explored that?? like adora is gone, so lonnie and catra start befriending scorpia to kind of try and stitch their friend group back together since adora was kind of the glue holding them together. it also makes it clear how deeply unhealthy catra’s attachment to adora is and how it’s a her problem because lonnie actually moves on pretty well, even though she’s hurt that adora left them. like adora made her choice, and lonnie could potentially have the inklings that something is wrong because unlike catra she’s not blinded by rage and this need to get back at adora for a perceived slight. lonnie never struck me as the type of person to be aggressively malicious like catra was always portrayed as being so?? idk i think that would be super interesting to explore in an au?

so yeah neutral on it, but i could definitely see there’s potential?

it’s possible! all the love ppl are giving those drawings kinda makes wanna dive into it again (i had plenty of ideas for the main trio as 19 y/os but damn keeping them younger teens for the au is tempting).

SOMEHOW someone came up with the wolves being bikers and the scars riding scooters which is EXACTLY the thought i had while thinking up the au so maybe soon i’ll come back to it to draw em doin some sick tricks
