"LetChurchSayAmEeen. LetChurchSayAmEeenAgain!" - Rev R.E. Braxton Congratulations to my former Pastor and current Presiding Elder Ronald E. Braxton for 50 years in ministry! What a wonderful evening listening to a capacity crowd of young and older faces from all facets of his #tribe tell the same kind of stories I have about about how he touched and supported them in tremendous ways. Elder Braxton is a passionate teacher, and a caring soul with a big heart and sharp intellect that calls excellence out of everyone around him. He never hesitates to speak truth to power or challenge you see where you missed the mark. Even with all he has dealt with in his own life, he was always there supporting members of our church. I've seen him go to work quietly serving his people without fanfare. I dearly miss the pulpit comedy coming from Elder Braxton and the love of his life Rev Marie back when they served our church. This picture was taken at #MetropolitanAME on March 2012 after #TrayvonMartin was murdered. His stole says "Let #justice roll down like a mighty stream." I won't even try to tell you all the ways this man has poured into my life, the life of my #family, and my #church family. I am a better person with a greater understanding of myself and our #history because of his #faithful #ministry and #spiritual #wisdom. Cheers to all Elder Braxton has done these 50 years. Cheers to what he continues doing to #uplift and #encourage people to #love and serve #God. #GRATITUDE #SpeakLIFE #SpreadLOVE #AME #IAmAME #PotomacDistrict #UnspeakableJOY (at La Fontaine Bleue)
