It will be interesting how this goes as the south coast had a really hard time in 2013, it is good to skip media hype but one will see

Lying in bed as ex-cyclone Gita makes it's way over us. Fortunately I have my kayak ready to go! Before heading our way, Gita flooded Samoa and Tonga. While New Zealand gets the occasional cyclone/hurricane, Christchurch is usually more famous for its earthquakes. Weather mapping curtesy of MetService

This morning the #MetService app thinks I am in Waverley, as clearly there is no weather in Mornington! Can anyone recommend a better weather app as the @metservicenz one drives me bonkers! I hate the ads, it loads too slowly and takes forever to give me a ten-day forecast. Help me please! #desperateinMornington (at Mornington, New Zealand)
