Live Editing Made Simple. The Mevo Camera Will Save You Time And Money
A new Camera has entered the news/coverage arena that is guaranteed to take off stress while still guaranteeing you better production and events coverage. Made by Livestream, it is dubbed the Mevo camera and it virtually turns you into a Super Producer because it reduces the number of hands you need on set. Normal scenario on a set involves working under tight deadlines. There are always guests in for interviews, technical equipment like Camera, sound, lights etc while the correspondent is hanging around, waiting anxiously. Most of the time, you get it right, but you still have to get the video back to the editing room and assemble your story before broadcast. The Mevo Live Event Camera simply steps in to take most of these pressures off you Measuring only two-inches-tall, Mevo Camera not only fits snugly into your pocket but will also eliminate the need for all other camera equipment and logistic challenges attached to it. Fitted into the compact body of the Mevo Camera is a 150-degree wide-angle lens, a UHD 4K sensor, a rechargeable battery, a Wi-Fi hot spot and a stereo audio system. Downloading the free app with your iPhone or iPad gives you control over as many as nine virtual camera angles live, each at 720p resolution. This enables you cover events without the need of having other camera set ups. Instead of switching physical cameras, you tap a part of your screen to change angles. Alternatively, you can let the system's facial-recognition switch them for you. The whole process feels a lot like being in a studio, but with even smoother pans. The smart software tracks each figure in the frame, and can automatically show the "camera" for that person. The top of the camera also has a circling LED that lets you know when the Mevo is powered on, paired and broadcasting. The Mevo can let your interview subjects know whose face is currently on camera via a red light that points towards the subject. It works the same whether there is one person in front of the camera or four. Mevo Live Event Camera's face detection also offers multiple shots to choose from, including individual faces, small groups of people, or wide. Attach Mevo to a tripod and you have an instant mobile studio. It will also automatically size shots to what it thinks is appropriate, though you can also set it by yourself. Mevo will never replace a production studio and the great lighting and fancy effects between cameras. What it would give you, however, is a great coverage and transmission of live events. Editing is where the Mevo Camera actually comes into its own. With Mevo you can actually bypass the normal editing processes and broadcast live using your smartphone, a back-up video stream backline and a video switcher to turn it into an all-in-one live story-telling device. You also only need a simple setup and a simple editing process to enable you make a home video or broadcast on Facebook Live, Livestream or something you can put on You Tube. Apart from the normal manual features, the automatic setting of the Mevo camera will edit for you on the fly, changing camera angle and frame size as the software sees fit. If you can combine two Mevo cameras, you may be able to alternate between 18 different events. Each virtual angle is controllable and selectable via the free iOS app. Using touch-based gestures; you can control each angle as if it was a real camera with a zoom lens on a tripod. The greatest advantage of editing your footage in real-time is that right after the event, you have a fully cut video ready for sharing. Internally, video is recorded to a 16GB microSD card which comes along with the camera so you can record with it right out of the box. A rear USB port can also be used for power, charging the internal battery and data transfer from the microSD card to a computer. The internal battery lasts for up to an hour on a full charge. For longer events, a 10' USB power cable is included, so when the camera is plugged in, there will be plenty slack for placing the camera away from the wall. The Mevo however has a weakness with its sound-recording capability. Although it has in- built- stereo microphones, they are not production standard. You can however supplement this with an external microphone or Sound Machine . All in all, the Mevo Camera is an utility Camera that is a must-have for small to medium price Producers who aspire for professional quality Productions. Coming in at a price of $399, it more than makes up for the cost and stress it saves you. See more on the Mevo Camera here. Click to Post
