Sarkodie - “Mewu ft. Akwaboah”

This is the first single off Ghanaian rapper Sarkodie’s forthcoming album Mary. Recorded with live instrumentation and featuring Akwaboah, who was the principle songwriter and producer on the album, “Mewu” takes highlife as a starting point for an intricately layered, lush and expansive song punctuated by Sarkodie’s verses in Twi. It definitely piques my curiosity to hear more of Mary.
