Sunny days are creeping back to the Midwest. I didn't really realize how much I missed daily sunshine until I didn't have it! But Amber is like having sunshine in your pocket. And this amber even more so. Chiapas Amber just waiting to be shaped and set into talismans. This is the amber of the ancient Maya. It was used in ceremony, as jewelry, in trade, and as decoration. It is from resin from an extinct tree species in the genus Hymenaec. That resin was antiseptic and protected the tree from disease and insects. It is estimated to be 22 to 28 Million years old. Just like the resin protects the tree, amber protects us. Being a product of a tree, amber grounds us. Just as burning amber as incense clears the air of negative energy, wearing it assists in clearing fears from our mind. #chiapasamber #amber #mexicanamber #mexico #sunshine #nofilter #sunnydays #sunfordays #ancientmaya #prehistory #cerimonial #sunworshipper #sunworship #endofretrograde (at Chiapas, Mexico) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9kYWNNB3b1/?igshid=hmpb0ma385wc
