Beyblade Metal Fusion – Episode 8 // Episode 17

This parallel is so interesting.

It's (once again) showing Ginga and Kyouya as the same blader at heart (check this tag for similar posts!)

But it's also pointing out a huge difference.

Ginga faced a real trial. Ryuuga is his enemy. He killed his father. He hears again his taunts, his insults toward his father, toward his own weakness.

Meanwhile, Kyouya got worked up on his own after losing one duel.

Watching Kyouya talking to Daidouji and trying to boss him around is so funny.

It's the way he talks to adults! He's a nightmare for his father.

Episode 5

Kenta: That's spiral. It's like a tornado… Tornado? Ginga! Remember Kyouya's special move!

Ginga: Kyouya's move?

FLASHBACK

Ginga: Oh! Thank you Kenta!

Tetsuya: No matter what you do, you're doomed.

Kenta: Go Ginga!

Ginga: Pegasus! Tornado Wing!

Episode 8

Ginga: So… why are you so intent on defeating me anyway Benkei ?

Madoka: Yeah. You are not even a Face Hunter anymore.

Benkei: Don't rub in it, okay?

Ginga: Is it Kyouya's orders?

Benkei: No. It's not. Kyouya isn't in this town now.

… Is Kyouya their friend already? They talk about him as if he is here all the time xD

Beyblade Metal Fusion - Episode 8: Merci's Dangerous Trap

[In a plane - Day]

Pilot: We are passing Point C. We will be arriving shortly.

Kyouya, angrily: Where are you taking me now? I told you to take me where Ginga is.

Daidouji: What did you plan to do once you got there?

Kyouya: Defeat him, of course. What do you think?

Daidouji, smirking: Um. Do you not understand me? You would loose in your current state.

Kyouya: What are you talking about?!

Daidouji: Granted, Kyouya. You completed our training program with amazing speed and accuracy. [flashbacks of Kyouya's training] As a result of your training with the newest machines, your strenght has been multiplied by 2.8 and thanks to the motion capturing used to modify your form, your bey responsiveness is up to 150 percent. You've also developped the concentration required to control bey movements to the millimeter. [back to the present - in the plane] As a blader, with the skills you've attained, you can already be considered perfect.

Kyouya: Well why then uh?

Daidouji: Because even so you still cannot win against Ginga Hagane.

Kyouya, shocked: What?

Daidouji: [flashback of Benkei] Even if you possess an exceedingly overwhelming power, [flashback of Tetsuya] even if you use traps to exploit your opponent's weakness, [flashback of Ginga] he will repel all that with the power of his heart. He will turn a defeat into a victory. [back to the present - in the plane] The only way to oppose him is to obtain fangs of the heart.

Kyouya: Fangs of the heart? What is that?

Pilot: We will be arriving momentarily.

Kyouya: Uh? Where are we?

Daidouji: A nature park that suits our purpose Kyouya. We call it Wolf Canyon.

Kyouya: Why Wolf Canyon?

Daidouji: Not a single person live within the area as far as your eyes can see. Now, it's completely uninhabited. The cliffs are incredibly steep. No one has ever climbed to the top.

Kyouya, angry: What's that got to do with me?

Daidouji: Legend has it that the king of beasts, the lion, would throw its cub into a deep valley and only raise the ones that could crawl back out. The true warrior proves himself only when he faces a seemingly impossible challenge. We call this the fangs of the heart. Climb to the top of this cliff and awaken the warrior sleeping within you.

Kyouya, smirking: That sounds interesting. [He stands up and grabs a bag.] If it helps me defeat Ginga, I'll do anything. [He opens the plane's door and jumps out.] Just you wait Ginga Hagane! [A parachute opens up.]

Daidouji, at the plane's door: I am counting on you, Kyouya.

[The plane flies away and Daidouji laughs.]

Kyouya’s instinct of self-preservation is faint, almost nonexistent

Episode 8 (Metal Fusion)

Daidouji: “Not a single person lives within the area as far as your eyes can see. Now it's completely uninhabited. The cliffs are incredibly steep. No one has ever climbed to the top. (...) Kyouya: “Ah! That sounds interesting.”

(For once Doji didn't lie... Well, Kyouya had time to regret it after he jumps into the valley... with a parachute... that wasn’t a good idea either)

Episode 72 (Metal Masters)

Kyouya, in a disappointed voice: “There's nothing here. That's pretty lame for a valley of storm.”

Episode 106 (Metal Fury)

“Hmm. This looks promising.”

Episode 129

And his disappointed look when he notices the monster is just a cute little kid.

“What? You're kidding. This is the monster?”

Me: Yeah. This is the monster. What were you hoping for, exactly?

(This lure for danger may be or may be not linked to his hate for boredom)
