I try not to go too long between mountain gorilla posts. They’re amazing animals, and it was the trip of a life time to get to go visit them. I haven’t put up a black and white shot of any of them as yet, but I really love how the eyes look on this one.

Agashya group, Mt Sabyinyo, Volcanoes National Park in Rwanda. Mountain gorillas are vegetarian, and love stripping the bark from small trees for a meal. This creates conflict with the local people in their home range, so as part of conservation efforts the governments in those countries will repay people for the damage so they don’t try to chase away or harm the gorillas.
