I'm rereading Robin Year one right now and I like how the artist show us the difference in their way of fighting :
Bruce's fighting style is more hard and jerky and very straighforward and fast. There are three smaller bubbles to get them (and to be fair, it's not just one person, it's just the feeling I got while reading it)
and Dick is way more fluid and bouncy but also, because he is way smaller, he has to be less direct. He has to wait for the perfect moment in a way that Bruce doesn't.
I don't know, I just think it's neat.
johns always intended to be a bit silly and antagonistic
When I figure out how to recede Ingo’s hairline without it looking like a poorly drawn massive forehead it’s over for us all.

Lightning Quick Start for Absolute Flash
When the Absolute Universe was announced as the latest DC project, it had me intrigued. This is the first thing in years that DC has done to really switch up origins and create a brand new series of events to launch the universe.
Of course, the book that got my attention was The Flash. As a massive fan of the character, it was intriguing to see a younger Wally on display with none of the support around him to guide him through the issues.
Artwork is a big thing in comics, and this one had stunning visuals that helped progress the story just as much as the dialogue did. The panels and story are lightning quick with time slipping occurring throughout. It is used to not only provide a roadblock for Wally having to learn his new powers but to also set up what will become the first story arc.
Lemire has already stated that he has 12-24 issues plotted out which sets the series up for a year or two. That is great given the way we get a flash forward at the end of the issue. We can already see major differences and we get some massive character introductions here as well.
This is exactly what you want from a Flash issue. Big-time character introductions and real threats to Wally West. Wally is the perfect Flash for this story because he has had so many stories focus on his youth but never quite like this. Atleast not from this kind of plot device.
Without spoiling too much, there is one sequence that may upset some people, but ultimately, it is defendable. There is no way to set up Wally feeling alone unless they pull this off, and it had to be done. There is always the idea with the time travel powerset that it can be undone at some point. It shouldn't be because it was the issues most powerful moment. However, either way, it set the bar for now and knowing what I know about The Flash there is a big chance it will be revisited down the line.
Absolutely Flash has absolutely the best start they could have had. So many cool panels. Beautiful artwork and lettering to help guide the timeline and help the reader follow along. Let's see what Issue 2 has in store for Wally West.
