Exploration
Is there a place on earth that hasn't been seen? lets exclude the deepest depths of the ocean cause if we had seen all of that we probably would have found MH730. Like all these pictures of landscapes pop up on my dashboard and they are only the photographed, good looking places. Is there anywhere original to visit....
Does anyone go on expeditions anymore..... Is that still a job? I mean surely even the places no one has been to are still visible by satellite.... How exciting it would have been to be Charles Sturt just walking out of Sydney, heading due west and expecting to find sea. Does anyone have that privilege anymore to be told to go find out what is over there with no clue what they are going to find. I suppose people who explore the ocean are all thats left.
RIP MH730
All prayers go to the people who passed away and their families, friends, etc. May they rest in peace. Please take a short time, one moment silence for these people who was once alive and happy, who is now sleeping forever under the wide, cold sea. RIP.
It is confirmed that MH730 has crashed in the Indian Ocean

Today is Sunday, the start of a new week. I had a really tough week and it ended with a huge fight with my mom yesterday. But now it’s over. I realize the only way for me to feel better is to actively fix the problems in my life, so I apologized to my mom later for my bad temper.
A plane has mysteriously disappeared. Until now nobody can tell what exactly has happened. I have been praying and following the news for two days and it seems nothing is clear. I don’t even have the courage to imagine myself stuck in those agonizing waits when I see those pictures of relatives and friends desperately crying in the airports in Beijing and Kuala Lumpur. I feel ashamed of myself for even considering my life “unlucky”. What is luck exactly? Luck is now I am still able to sit in front of my desk, reading and having a nice cup of tea. Luck is when I realize I’ve done something wrong and I still have the chance to say “I’m sorry…” to my mom. All those little challenges suddenly become insignificant, if not completely negligible.
Last Friday, a close friend took me to a nice book&coffee bar that I’d always wanted to go after our mock driving test, and I found a little surprise. The bar was trying to ask book lovers who are interested in the French novella The Little Prince to make a written version of this beautiful fairytale. I was glad to have the chance to finish the whole book by writing the last chapter, chapter 27. I am actually quite fascinated by the idea of creating a book with different handwriting styles. After I finished copying, I drew a little(I’m terrible at drawing though) and then commented and wrote a little about my life along with my signature.
I didn’t have much time for my reading last week, but I managed to finish The Art of Travel by Alain de Botton. I really love the flow of his writings and the book gave me a more peaceful mind in the previous hectic week. I haven’t read about the biography of Van Gogh, so the chapter about Provence in France and Van Gogh is engaging. (Best part of the book to me) I finished reading 1Q84 (Book 1&2) like three weeks ago, but I don’t have Book 3, so this reading gap starts to kill me. I guess next Friday, if everything goes smoothly, I will catch the subway to that fancy bookstore, grab some books and buy myself an unreasonably expensive coffee.
Last week, I also watched Howl’s moving castle. No wonder the Studio Ghibli has so many fans around the world, I can now see the reason. But Howl’s moving castle is still slightly behind Spirited Away in my eyes. I was so moved by Spirited Away when I saw it in middle school and many people simply couldn’t believe why I described an animation film “shocking”. I guess I’ll watch another Ghibli film this coming week, maybe My neighbour totoro, because one of my friends highly recommended it to me.
Right now I’m pretty behind my schedules for my academics. I really need to catch up now. At first, self-studying JAVA seems really difficult, but now I think I’m on the right track and I really start to understand the essence of inheritance and polymorphism. Calculus and Chemistry are relatively easy and I finally find good online courses to help me. I’ll have Subject 1 for my driving test next week, so good luck to myself.
I assume next week I’ll become a mess again. But no more complaints. I’ll keep optimistic, study a lot, code a lot, find a new book to read, watch more Ghiblis and pass my driving test. Hopefully we can get good news about MH370. I’ll probably become a nerd but I don’t really care. Oh and someone anonymous said he/she noticed my changed url… Well, that’s true lol…
