Monoma's reaction to Bakugou's death

He recalls the class 1-B battle in particular. Which is interesting because Monoma does have other memories of Bakugou to flash back to (he's usually maniacally laughing in the background of them).

Bakugou has some key lines in the match-up recounted by Monoma:

-victory by the strong is an absolute victory 4-0 no injuries

-he also specifically states that his team (Jirou, Satou, Sero) has to create their own opening and not wait for one as part of the strategy

-then the big moment from that fight was him stating that "when you're in danger I'll save you but when I'm in danger you best save me"

That was a big moment for his character in that fight's context. He wasn't expected to even 'cooperate' with his team otherwise, and that's what class 1-b was counting on.

I wonder if this current battlefield is meant to relate to any of those themes or if remembering that is only meant to underscore how unbelievable it is that Bakugou of all people could fall.

I choose to believe it is relevant in some way. A 'wink' to the reader maybe as @class1akids stated.

If it is relevant it's reinforcing that:

-a victory can only come through teamwork of the existing players

-some form of 'making an opening' needs to happen or Bakugou created one in whatever he was trying to do before dying

-a true victory would include everyone being saved...so an end to this arc with Bakugou dead and the rest of class 1-a marking a 'win' is not likely

Katsuki dying alone and his last words were totally heartbreaking and then I read some people rejoicing his death makes me angry so much. I can't believe they are happy about that when he is Izuku closest person and his image of victory. Not only Izuku but also his teachers and classmates. I can't fathom the emotions they will feel when they know what happened to Katsuki. Seeing Aizawa sensei, Best Jeanist and Monoma reaction is already a cut through the heart. I know they only hate Katsuki because of Bakudeku and his bullying before but they are so blind to see his character development, his growth on being a hero and being a good friend that he literally died because of Izuku and I know that Katsuki will never blame Izuku for his death but Izuku will still blame him self and I bet he will never forgive himself for being late and not saving Katsuki on time 😭 Katsuki dying doesn't help Izuku at all as he is constant in his life and always been together since they were kids. Him dying is like Izuku dying too cause he will never get over Katsuki's death. Remember Izuku wanted to save people with a smile. Then do you believe that after Katsuki's death he will smile brightly knowing that he failed to save the most important person to him. Him being the greatest hero but losing Katsuki in the process is nonsense. So I believe he will do everything to save Katsuki even though it might looks hopeless as of now but I believe them because Izuku is the symbol of hope and Katsuki as the image of victory. Both of them are needed to win the war.

Platonic or not they truly care for each other and willing to die for the other. If it's not love then I rest my case and please check your eyes.
