Welcome to the Lestival
Stevie was regretting not paying more attention to Cosmo as she stood in front of her mirror for the umpteenth time. What was appropriate to wear to a festival?! She’d had to discard her favourite white dress for fear of getting wet somehow and having a repeat of the Pool Incident. Festivals were no place for body piercings. She didn’t even know what she was worrying about - no doubt Sio would be wearing something sporty and revealing, and Stevie would just be overdressed. Yes, that settled it. A sporty sundress would be fine, she told herself as she bundled a cardigan into her bag, checked her phone one last time and hurried out of the door.
The walk down to where the stalls began was a nervous one, but she found herself prickling with excitement as she sent Sio a text, complete with cute emojis, to let her know she’d arrived. If she’d had more time, she would have picked up something - flowers? Chocolates? - because friends totally did that, but she’d been too flustered to really think about it. Fidgety, she rubbed a smudge of sunscreen into her arm and looked around for Sio, giving up the pretence of a casual stance.
