Banda Pears

Woooooo... days go by! I've been heads down for the better part of the past couple of weeks, and finally surfacing for a restaroo! 

Last Friday, I went downtown to chill with Coolin. We went to Bannock for dinner, b/c I've been telling myself to try it ever since it opened up (and also for its proximity to the NPS skating rink, haha). 

We had the Bannock Bannock at Bannock... yes, that *is* I got it. :D It's smoked salmon, cream cheese, onion and cumin... which doesn't sound all that great (outside of the fact that salmon+cream cheese is always a win), but the flavours melded together quite nicely and it tasted better than it sounds (and looks). 

We also got the grilled Alberta lamb rump, which was succulent and juicy, but left our stomaches wanting. =P My Foodspotting buddy told me that the s'mores are to die for, so I'm sad I didn't get dessert... but next time! =D 

After dinner, we crossed the street to NPS for some ice skating. We actually ended up going to NPS for convenience... I really wanted to go to Harbourfront. But as it turned out, NPS>Harbourfront! It was waaay less crowded on the rink, no line for the skates rental, and they played good music, surprisingly. Yay, got my skating fix this winter! 

On Saturday, I went downtown again to help Jizz move into their new condo. 

Spent half the day getting the place all scrubbed and gleaming, and the other half listening to Chris & Jo bicker over window wiping techniques. 

Afterward, we made a trip to Ikea, where we took too long, got too lost, and spent too much time testing out the beds. ^Ceiling view from their beds, lol. 

After a long day of housestuffs, we earned ourselves some Mother's Dumplings for dindins. Dinner was a stop n go because we were running late for... a great movie... 

lmao, no we weren't! We went to watch Arrietty... all I can say was WTF. Poorly done, lol. Not one of Yonebayashi's bests... 

Then, hello. Check this out. Biggest sushi boat I've ever seen. w00t w00t! Lunch is served! :D  o

Followed by a significantly smaller sushi boat for dinner at Etsu, haha. Whoop, I mean - fast forward to this weekend, I'm downtown again to help BUILD SOME FURNITURE for Jizz's new place. Didn't really end up building any furniture, but instead, lugged sofas and shit up to their place, haha. Workout Of The Day. 

Visitor parking was all filled up from the Leafs game, so we had to steal Jizz's neighbour's spot. Left him a nice note and a koala chocolate though. :) Fortunately, he never came by, but I still managed to drive my car into a pole that night. And also spill a scalding cup of coffee all over my crotch, in the backseat of the car, leaving me with burning nether regions and pantsless for the night.
