Miami AU headcanons
That last fic prompt post was angst-ridden, so to make up for it, have some random headcanons about the happy and distracting neon shits from dimension M-768.
-Contrary to my follower's popular beliefs whenever you see me draw the Miami couple snorting lines, it's NOT cocaine. It's actually most often Kalaxian Crystals. While Miami Rick and Stan did experiment some with earth drugs prior to moving to Miami, they both agreed that if they were gonna make a fortune selling poison, they would go clean. They prefer to dabble in non-addicting space drug alternatives that make you really need to dance.
-Unlike most other dimensions, and despite working with the Medellín Cartel, they have both never actually been to Colombia. Rick may have caught a hint that most other dimension Stans end up spending time in prison there and decided it was safer to just stay in Miami and market the product locally rather than get involved in the importing/smuggling side of the business.
-Rick never finished building his own design for the portal gun. He assumed it was a dead end project and had given up on it. The finished tech and blueprints were actually given to him by another Rick he came in contact with shortly after they'd moved to Miami
-Rick is very aware that most nearby parallel dimensions where things are similar to their own dimension have resulted in their deaths (it is a dangerous line of work). He monitors them regularly and has a rather grim chart in which he records various cause of deaths in an attempt to know how to avoid them. This is also part of how he knew what dimension would be safe to hop to when they needed to escape their own.
-It's more often Stan in my AU's who pops the question in the rare case that they get married at all, but in this dimension's case Rick was the one who proposed first! While Stan had once briefly mentioned when they were younger that they could just get married in space, Rick had shrugged the suggestion off. He'd been married before and didn't see much point if it wouldn't be acknowledged as a legal marriage in Florida. That opinion changed in 2015, and he went all out proposing.
-Although they mostly listen to 80's classics, they do enjoy modern music too. Rick is a Lana Del Ray fan. Stan prefers Lady Gaga. They have had full blown youtube comment level fights over who is the better singer...
-Stan's sunglasses are not prescription. He actually got corrective eye surgery in the early 90′s and is currently my only AU version of Stan with perfect 20/20 vision
-Rick is the more skilled tennis player of the pair, but Stan's golf game is so good he made Jerry cry... a lot. Like geez, Jerry, please stop. This is just embarrassing.
