hi! 10.5/rose, read it >4 years ago on tsp, v long oneshot or multichap, post JE. 10.5 struggling with his new humanity, dyed his hair ginger, painted his nails (i think?), p sure they both worked at torchwood, there was possibly a passage about time lord grammar [will have been going to be, stuff like that]. don't remember how shippy it actually was, it seems unlikely it was gen. slice-of-life/casefic? with focus a on 10.5 finding his feet in his new existence. might've had a baby tardis growth

i know your 'please write please work' pain, haha// i thought of something else, sometimes what i do is i have a paragraph and then the last line is an analogy either summing up the sitch/relationship, or giving new insight/nuance to the character's thoughts. we both use pretty close 3rd P POV i think so it could work for you too. that way it might feel less shoehorned? also, hey, if you ever need someone to read over things i'd be more than happy too, friend~!

it is extremely possible i use too many overblown metaphors. but… i have fun doing it? i like them. not sure if this is helpful, sorry! one thing i try to do is come up with something that i haven’t seen before. or even just twisting an existing metaphor in a way that makes it specific to the situation

Hey yo I love your use of metaphors in your stuff. You’ve definitely got a knack for it! And ooh making an existing metaphor more specific to the current situation is a good suggestion.
