Heyyyyy can I get your opinions and thoughts on stephcassmia :)))
NYEHHEHEHEHE YOU HAVE FALLEN INTO MY TRAP
I'm going to split this answer into three parts: Stephmia, Cassmia, and Stephcassmia (why no stephcass- cause everyone knows stephcass and why it is awesome) (long post so there is a cut)
Stephmia:
Mia and Stephanie have, on the surface at least, similar personalities. They speak their mind, and are awesome, headstrong superheroines. They both have some trauma in common and I think they would bond over that- make jokes about their traumas that would make other people look at them funny. They could take over the world with their wit and charm. Both Speedy and Robin are mantles that are known for being regular humans who laugh and joke while being in dangerous fights. (I bring up Robin because 1:I love stephbin 2:one of my first thoughts of Stephmia was "would would gen 2 of the og speedyrobin be?" 3:while handled poorly, being Robin was important to Stephanie. I feel like, as Spoiler is a compliment to Tim's Robin, Speedy is also a mantle similar to Robin, and I think the way Stephanie is as a hero would compliment Mia's actions as a hero as well. And, Mia and Stephanie, below surface level, are very different people. Like, for example, Mia has killed. Mia Dearden has killed a man, and Stephanie Brown never has. Even in a life threatening situation, where if she had killed black mask, she wouldn't have "died", Stephanie Brown did not kill a man. Her... fear? Admiration? For Bruce hung over her heavily, and she did not kill. The moment Mia killed, she was not thinking of what Ollie would think. She thought of the people in her city that had died, she saw no other way out, and she shot a man in the heart. Only after did she care about what Ollie thought, but barely. She asked "I had to, right?" Not specifically what Ollie thought, but more a moral question, asking that there was no other way to stop the killing of the people in her city. And that's not a diss against Steph, I'm just saying they react differently to different situations, they are different people with different morals, they hold regard for different people, Stephanie holds Bruce, who isn't her dad, higher than Mia holds Ollie, who is (though they don't really say it). Another thing is yes to keep bringing their mentors into it, Stephanie has daddy issues and Bruce has child issues, and they both used those issues to push eachother away and be mean, but to still have some point of care and connection. Mia has daddy issues and Ollie has child issues, and they both healed from them, and exist as father and daughter (they they don't call eachother that because it makes them both uncomfortable due to their issues) and are close. So I think Mia would be a healthy relationship for Stephanie because Mia would look Steph in the eyes and say "Bruce sucks. Either you both heal your traumas and talk it out, or you heal by yourself and cut the weird connection you have with him because your relationship with him as it is isn't healthy for either of you." Mia is very much no nonsense and direct, and basically everyone from Gotham is much less so. And I mean, I'm not saying Steph would use Mia to heal from her trauma then leave her, I think Mia would wait until Stephanie is in a better place mentally before entering a relationship because she doesn't want to be used like that (and mia would recognize steph being dependent on her like that would be unhealthyfir steph as well). And then they both would be able to really enjoy eachother's time and companionship well. I think Mia, being very emotionally intelligent, would be able to understand steph's almost closed off-ness pretty well, she wouldn't push boundaries and would also draw boundaries very clearly. Augh yeah I love them they could take over the world.
Cassmia:
Now this. This is a newer thought of mine. Do I think they could be really healthy? Yes. I do not think they would start healthy. I think they would not like eachother in the beginning and that is my bread and butter. Cass can read body language very well, it is so easy for her to tell what someone is feeling. And while Mia is pretty open with her feelings (eventually. After getting blown up and then her school getting blown up) the thing is, Mia chooses to share her private thoughts and feelings. In the end they are hers to share, and upon first meeting Cass, who seems to be taking her private things and using them, airing them out to the world, Mia wouldn't like that. She'd see it as almost violating. (Mia would HATE any telepath rooting around in her head. Just fyi yk... Dani stuff 😉) and on the flip side, Cass would see Mia just hating her for no reason, because in her point of view, emotions aren't really private at all. Everyone is displaying them all the time, everywhere (and it causes issues in her personal life-) so why is this girl so angry with her? So that would cause a point of contention. And Cass and Mia, yes, they have both been though intense, violent trauma. But they are very different types of trauma. I think Cass would have trouble understanding why it took Mia so long to leave, if she was being hurt like that. And Mia wouldn't understand why it took killing a man for Cass to leave. Cass had no bodily autonomy, she was a weapon. Mia had no bodily autonomy, she was a toy. But the difference is, Cass still has trouble recognizing her own autonomy. And she is... touchy. I think she could tell easily if she was breaking one of Mia's boundaries, or even if something she was going to would break a boundary, but depending on what it was, Cass wouldn't understand the boundary, and wonder why it is there, she'd push Mia's boundaries and Mia would not like that. AND ANOTHER VERY BIG THING. They have both killed a man and feel differently about their kills. Cass would rather die before she killed again. It haunts her every waking thought, every movement, every choice Cassandra makes, she makes because of that death. Mia killed not because she didn't know better, she knew what death was and what she was doing. She killed to save the lives of others. Yes she regrets the fact that she had to kill, but that is the point of contention. Mia doesn't regret her kill because she had to. Cass would disagree, there is no had to, Mia must have missed another way out. (Also, I don't think Mia would never kill again. She begged Ollie to let her kill electrocutioner. And while Ollie didn't have to fight her down, he just talked to her and told her no, I think if Mia was presented with another situation like the one she killed a guy in, she would do it again, and feel guilt about it, of course.) Something Mia and Cass have in common is they are both trying to make up for the kill. Mia still doesn't like that she killed, and her kill was a major reason she became Speedy, to make up in a way. And Cass is constantly trying to make up for her kill, and never will live it down in her eyes. So, I think after boundary testing, arguing about morality, firmly establishing boundaries and getting used to eachother, Cass and Mia would make very good friends. (I sound like I'm talking about introducing too very territorial cats to eachother haha) And, after their friendship, I think they would at the very least have a physical relationship, because they would learn to trust eachother very well, honestly after the initial fighting, I think Cass and Mia would trust eachother more than Steph and Mia. (If they still tried to be friends with eachother after disliking eachother, and they succeeded? Woo boy they are attacted yup) I just think they both care so deeply for people. They are bother funny in different ways, and in a lot of ways they would be like stephcass, except I think they would fight more often, almost flirtily (like dinahshiva). (ALSO TO ME THEY ARE BUTCHxBUTCH)
Stephcassmia:
Now you take all the goodness of steohcass, and stephmia, and cassmia, and you smoosh it all together. Yes, I think stephcassmia would fix all the problems with all three ships, it would totally balance all things out. Mia being there would help establish very firm boundaries and stop testing them. Steph being there would 1: get Cass and Mia to stop fighting and realize they would be awesome together and 2: help Cass and Mia communicate with eachother because I feel like they would have some communication issues even with Mia's open-ness. And Cass being there would help Steph and Mia not be too much. Just steph and Mia would get messy and Cass would help make the mess cleaner (unless she decides the mess is necessary in which they would be the biggest messiest throuple ever)
So in short: Steph loves her butches and ausgsusbwuebejieisheusue I'm so normal about stephcassmia *nods nods*
