❝ Dressed In Decay ❞ - Mia :: Chloe
Another night. Another event. It was the night of a charity auction dinner for the Habitat for Humanity and pretty much the whole Seoul's upper class had turned up. After getting their photos taken in front of the red carpet backdrop by reporters, Chloe and few other socialites entered the W Hotel's grand ballroom.
Fairy lights and strips of sky blue fabrics hanging on the ceiling, all the tables were rounded up neatly, even though they filled up the room but there was still plenty of space in between, letting guests to move around with ease. The centerpiece on each table was carefully crafted by florists with candles and flowers. It was fitting that they used lily of the valley for tonight's occasion, as it symbolized humility.
Though no more than half of the people here truly cared about the charity behind this event. They were mostly here to be seen, to flaunt off their statuses. It was a just a bonus that their names would appear on the society page of tomorrow's newspaper, praising what kind of good deeds the rich and famous do and how much generous donation they'd made.
Chloe would unabashedly admit, if she had not received the invitation along with a neatly handwritten letter by the coordinator behind this event, she would not bother to show up. She'd much rather spent her Thursday night re-watching classic old films with a glass of red wine in her cozy condominium apartment. The reptition of these sort of events was starting to feel lackluster to Chloe.
Her navy Alice + Olivia ankle strap pumps glided on the carpeted surface as she trailed behind the staff who was escorting her to the table she was to be seated for the night, tossing a smile here and there to someone she knew. The short girl pulled out a chair and motioned her to take a seat, Chloe nodded her head lightly and mumbled a thank you. It seemed that she was the first one to arrive at the table. Curiously, she poked her head around trying to see the name cards that had been placed on each plate, particularly the one next to her. "Mia Kim." she murmured the name out loud, feeling relieved she wasn't sitting with some complete stranger.
