There is a vein of TTRPG and maybe fantasy more broadly that is extremely interested in mice. Redwall is probably the real origin point if you trace it back, but even outside of fantasy games, I feel that I see the subject matter of mice explored pretty regularly. Just going into the new games list on itch I see four mouse based games on just a cursory glance.

Don’t get me wrong, I love mice and rats. Carrion eaters will inherit the earth and all that. But it just seems like a very particular focus for a certain kind of dork
