It was God limping by🎶
"The call is to humility; the impoverished power that sets the soul free. In humility we make the vow that day after day we must take up the basin and the towel."

It’s wild to me that there’s just, like, a quietly progressive/radical Christian music scene nested inside the Americana/folk world, backed by some of the biggest names in country music songwriting and some of the pioneers of contemporary Christian music. Like….Phil Madeira, Phil Keaggy, Michael Card, Dan Tyminski, Sean McConnell, etc. And so many of these folks know each other. Like, enough that they could write two albums of “Hymns for the Rest of Us” (the Mercyland series) that would honestly be perfect for the current moment of church deconstruction but almost no one knows about them
Happy Michaelmas!
